This piece means a lot to me, as it is my first time tackling a larger portrait. To think I made the canvas for a completely different painting.
Originally I was going to paint a woman with a spinning wheel from a photo I took a while ago. I could not seem to find the right composition and I felt it did not fit in with my other works, but I wanted to find a subject that could convey the same meaning of embracing human craftsmanship in the wake of a society who so easily welcomed AI.
The man, a free thinker, void of artificial reliance, thinking in solitude.
Although I know yellow is used in ai artwork to appear nostalgic, I used it because you cannot replicate a beautiful yellow tone artificially so the dichotomy is evident.
Like my previous idea I wanted to paint someone older, to convey wisdom.
