BIOGRAPHY

Kate Alexandra

Born in New York, Kate felt an immense connection to art with both parents working in the entertainment industry. She spent her time exploring any creative output available, be it sculpture, photography, all heavily influenced by film, theater and music. She enjoyed depicting scenes with vivid imagery from small trips around New England, notably places like Rockport Massachusetts, and visits backstage at the Metropolitan Opera. This amount of early exposure to creative processes has contributed significantly to her deep veneration for art.

Moving out west in the midst of her childhood, she continued her passion depicting the  landscapes and animals from her constant travels from California to Texas through charcoal and pencil illustrations. Holding a close influence with her English heritage, British film and music have always had an impact on her, and is a consistent catalyst in her work.

Somewhat self taught, Kate has spent most of her life studying art, spending countless hours practicing her craft with the help of trained artists in the family. She involves herself in the complete process from making the canvases to photographing her work.

After moving to Virginia and building an art studio in 2023, the shift to mainly working in oil paint and charcoal felt most authentic to her subject matter.
